Advantages:
  • Reduces passes for high productivity
  • Ensures longer tool life
  • Multi-point inserts are similar to full profile, but have more than one insert point (two pointed inserts give double productivity, three pointed insert give triple, etc.)


Disadvantages:
  • • Can’t work next to shoulder or require wide release groove
  • • High cutting forces
